Eleanor has over 10 years of experience working with psychological therapy services within the NHS with individuals and families across the lifespan.
For the past 7 years, she has specialised in working with children, young people and families with a broad range of chronic and complex physical health conditions within Paediatric Clinical Psychology services. Eleanor is currently the Principal Clinical Psychologist for the Gastroenterology service at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and the lead Clinical Psychologist for the Gastro-Allergy Service.
She is also a member of the BSACI Psychology Special Interest Group, which works to promote the psychological care and well-being of patients with allergies and their families. She provides evidence-based therapy and approaches to support children, young people and families to adjust to diagnoses, navigate and manage medical investigations and treatment and consider the complex psychological and social impact of living with complex health needs with consideration to quality of life, psychological health, sense of identity and relationships.
Adopting an integrative approach with a strong systemic underpinning, Eleanor strives to support those she works with to cope and manage distress, recognising and drawing upon the individuals' and families' strengths and values.
Eleanor has expertise in child development, attachment, paediatric health, relationships, and family systems. Eleanor provides staff support, supervision and consultation to other psychologists and professionals.
She also delivers bespoke teaching and training to different professionals working within the NHS and presents at national and international conferences.
