Professor Nathalie Rommel is the director of the Master of Science in Deglutology (Faculty of Medicine) at the University of Leuven, Belgium.
Her clinical research focuses on upper gastrointestinal disorders and concentrates on the development, analysis, and clinical use of novel diagnostic catheter-based methods to characterize the pathophysiology of dysphagia and to evaluate treatment options for upper gastrointestinal motility disorders. Dr. Rommel’s clinical work in Deglutology concentrates on the diagnosis of patients across the life span with pharyngeal and esophageal dysphagia. From February 2020 till March 2023, she was ESSD President.
