Roy Philip

Prof. Philip is currently serving as the Adjunct Professor of Neonatology and Consultant Neonatologist & Pediatrician at the University of Limerick Hospitals. Previously, he was the ClinicalDirector of Maternal and Child Health at UL Hospitals. He was the elected President of the Irish PaediatricsAssociation (IPA) from 2007 to 2012.He was formerly a consultant at Rotunda MaternityHospital in Dublin and a Critical Care & ECMOFellow at the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, London. Prof Philip is aFellow of RCPI, RCPCH, and the Joint Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine ofIreland. He is a graduate of the University of Kerala in India. In addition to anMD in Paediatrics and an MBA in Healthcare Management, he also holds postgraduate qualifications in Health Economics and Healthcare Leadership. His PhD in Neonatology focused on the preventative and bioactive roles of human milk. Prof. Philip's areas of interest include breast milk for premature neonates, life-course immunization, and evidence-based design and development of NICU and high-dependency units.
