About

ANNA

PEARCE

Anna is a Senior Research Fellow at the MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit, where she co-leads a workstream on ‘Reducing Health Inequalities. She has a longstanding interest in child health inequalities, with her research predominantly focussed on describing and understanding child health inequalities using cohorts, such as the Millennium Cohort Study and Growing Up in Scotland, and more recently linked administrative data. She has a particular interest in the application of causal methods, including mediation analysis, to ask why children from less advantaged backgrounds have worse health than their more advantaged peers, and what policy-makers can do to prevent this. Anna is funded by the Wellcome Trust, MRC, CSO; a Co-I of the UKPRP Maternal and Child Health network (MatCHNet), and a member of the International Network for Research on Inequalities in Child Health.
