Dr Rafeeq Muhammed is Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist and Clinical Lead for inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) services in Birmingham Children's Hospital. He has been previously been Chair of the education committee of British Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (BSPGHAN), and is currently Chair of the IBD working group of BSPGHAN. Dr Muhammed’s research interests include epidemiology and therapeutics in IBD. Dr Muhammed is Principal Investigator of numerous IBD clinical trials. He has published peer-reviewed articles in journals such as Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition and presented scientific papers in the field of intestinal failure and IBD. He also serves as Medical Advisor and a member of the editorial board for Crohn’s Colitis UK.
