Dr. Colin Michie is Deputy Lead at the School of Medicine at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) in Preston, United Kingdom. He has a multidisciplinary academic and clinical background, with expertise in paediatrics, haematology, and medical education. He serves as Chair of the Abstracts Committee of the Excellence in Pediatrics Conference, supporting scholarly communication and academic engagement within the institution and broader professional networks.
Dr. Michie’s work spans several areas of interest, including paediatric nutrition, health literacy, and the integration of public health and clinical medicine through the ‘One Health’ framework—an approach that emphasizes the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health. His academic and teaching contributions promote the development of sustainable, evidence-based healthcare practices, with a focus on improving child health outcomes and preventive strategies.
