Luisa Mearin (MD, PhD) is a paediatric gastroenterologist and professor of paediatrics at Leiden University, the Netherlands. She is the head of the Unit of Paediatric Gastroenterology at Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC). Her ambition is to improve the health and quality of life of sick children, especially those with gastrointestinal diseases, particularly celiac disease (CD). She has a long experience in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric gastrointestinal disease. Luisa Mearin is well recognized for her contribution to the field of childhood CD, including its epidemiology, immunology, genetics, treatment, prevention, complications and patient quality of life.
