After several years in clinical practice, she pursued a Sleep Medicine fellowship as a Mayo Foundation Scholar, refining her expertise in pediatric sleep disorders, circadian rhythm disturbances, and sleep-related breathing conditions.

Her research explores parasomnias, hypersomnia, narcolepsy, and obstructive sleep apnea in children, aiming to improve diagnostic accuracy and treatment strategies. She collaborates with oral and maxillofacial surgeons, pediatric intensive care specialists, and pain rehabilitation teams, ensuring that children with complex sleep disorders receive comprehensive care.

Dr. Lloyd is actively involved in academic publishing and professional leadership, serving as Chair of the Quality Measure Task Force at the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and a member of the Research Coordinating Committee at Mayo Clinic’s Center for Sleep Medicine. She has contributed to clinical guidelines on pediatric sleep disorders, shaping best practices in sleep medicine and respiratory health.
