Dr. Aziz Koleilat is an Associate Professor of Gastroenterology at Makassed University General Hospital in Beirut, Lebanon. He specializes in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition, contributing to advancements in the diagnosis and treatment of digestive disorders in children.
Dr. Koleilat serves as the Vice General Secretary of PASPAGHN (Pan Arab Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition), where he plays a key role in shaping regional healthcare policies and promoting research in pediatric digestive health. He is also an Institutional Review Board (IRB) member at Makassed University General Hospital, ensuring ethical standards in medical research.
As the Founder and Chair of the Pediatric Departments at Berbir, Makassed, and Mother and Child Hospitals in Beirut, Dr. Koleilat has been instrumental in establishing specialized pediatric care units. His leadership has helped improve access to gastroenterology and hepatology services for children across Lebanon.
Dr. Koleilat is actively involved in global health initiatives, serving as a GINA Mediterranean Member and a WHO Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Research Member. His contributions to pediatric nutrition and digestive health align with international efforts to combat childhood malnutrition and gastrointestinal diseases.
His research focuses on pediatric liver diseases, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and nutritional interventions for children with digestive disorders. He has published studies on early detection of gastrointestinal conditions, dietary management strategies, and advancements in pediatric hepatology, shaping clinical guidelines for pediatric gastroenterologists.
