Professor Ursula Kiechl-Kohlendorfer is a leading expert in neonatology, serving as Professor of Neonatology and Head of Department (Pediatrics II, Neonatology) at the Medical University of Innsbruck, Austria. Her research focuses on short- and long-term outcomes of preterm infants, including cardiovascular follow-up, neonatal neuroscience, and the epidemiology of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
Prof. Kiechl-Kohlendorfer has dedicated her career to improving neonatal care, refining diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for premature infants. Her work integrates clinical neonatology with epidemiological research, ensuring that newborns receive evidence-based interventions to enhance survival rates and neurodevelopmental outcomes. She has contributed to global discussions on neonatal health, shaping guidelines for preterm infant care.
She is actively involved in academic mentorship, supervising numerous diploma and doctoral theses at the Medical University of Innsbruck. She collaborates with international research teams, contributing to multicenter studies on neonatal neuroscience and cardiovascular health in preterm infants.
