Ahmad Kantar

Professor Ahmad Kantar, MD, PhD, MSc, is a leading expert in pediatric respiratory medicine, serving as Director of the Pediatric Cough and Asthma Center and Head of the Pediatric Unit at Istituti Ospedalieri Bergamaschi, University and Research Hospitals in Bergamo, Italy. His work focuses on chronic cough, asthma, and inhalation therapy in children, contributing to advancements in pediatric pulmonology and allergy research.

Prof. Kantar has played a pivotal role in developing specialized treatment protocols for pediatric asthma and chronic cough, ensuring that children receive evidence-based respiratory care. He has contributed to the European Respiratory Society (ERS) Cough Guidelines, shaping clinical recommendations for pediatric respiratory disorders. His expertise spans airway inflammation, pulmonary function assessment, and therapeutic interventions, refining diagnostic accuracy and treatment strategies for children with respiratory conditions.

Previously, Prof. Kantar served as Director of the High Altitude Pediatric Asthma Center in Misurina, where he led research on environmental influences on pediatric asthma. His academic contributions include lecturing at the Department of Pediatrics and Biochemistry at the University of Ancona and the University of Camerino, where he trained healthcare professionals in pediatric pulmonology and respiratory disease management.
