Marko Kalliomäki graduated from medical school at the University of Turku in Finland in 1995. Dr. Kalliomäki acquired his specialist degree in paediatrics in 2005 and qualified as paediatric gastroenterologist in 2009 in the same university. He completed his doctoral thesis in 2001 in University of Turku. Dr. Kalliomäki made his post-doctoral fellowship in the combined program of pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at the Harvard Medical School in 2003-2004. He has published 75 scientific papers and his h-index is 25. The main area of his research include inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, childhood functional gastrointestinal disorders and probiotics. Dr. Kalliomäki works at the moment as the chief paediatric gastroenterologist in Turku University Hospital and as assistant professor of paediatrics in the University of Turku.
