Sebastian Ionescu is Professor of Pediatric Surgery at University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Carol Davila” , Senior Surgeon and Head of Pediatric Surgery Department at Emergency Children Hospital “Marie S. Curie”, Bucharest. He completed his pediatric surgery training at Saint Luc Hospital – UCL in Brussels, Robert Debré Hospital in Paris and King’s Daughters Children’s Hospital, Norfolk, USA. His main activities and responsabilities are training residents in Pediatric Surgery, creating and implementing curricula for Pediatric Surgery, coordinator of the national pediatric laparoscopy program, member of the examination board for residents, specialists and senior pediatric surgeons, member of evaluation committees for Advanced Medical Education positions, Member of Evaluation Committees for PhD degree. He is editor-in-chief for Journal of Pediatric Surgical Specialties, member of editorial board for Romanian Journal of Neonatology and „Medicina Moderna”, and also reviewer for other 5 journals. He published as (co)author over 130 articles in national or international journals and books in pediatric surgery. His main interests are pediatric urology and congenital malformation of digestive system. He attended as lecturer at different national or international meetings.
