Dr. Anne Hublet is a Post-Doctoral Researcher in the Department of Public Health at Ghent University, Belgium, specializing in adolescent health, substance use, and health promotion for disadvantaged groups. Her research focuses on risk behaviors in youth, particularly smoking, alcohol consumption, and drug use, contributing to public health strategies and intervention programs.
Dr. Hublet earned her PhD in 2008 from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Ghent University, where she studied environmental and individual influences on smoking in young people. Her doctoral research provided critical insights into youth smoking behaviors, shaping preventive strategies and policy recommendations for adolescent health.
Since 2001, she has been actively involved in the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) study, an international research network analyzing youth health trends across multiple countries. In 2013, she became the Principal Investigator of the Flemish-Belgian HBSC team and Chair of the Risk Behaviour Focus Group, leading studies on substance use patterns among adolescents and university students.
Her current research explores health promotion strategies for disadvantaged groups in social economy companies, assessing how workplace environments influence health behaviors. She has contributed to peer-reviewed publications on adolescent smoking, binge drinking, and socioeconomic disparities in health outcomes, helping refine public health interventions.
Beyond her research, Dr. Hublet is actively involved in policy development and academic mentorship, collaborating with European health organizations to improve youth health policies. Her contributions to adolescent health research, substance use prevention, and health promotion continue to shape the field, improving public health strategies for young people.
