Jean-Michel Hascoet

Professor Jean-Michel Hascoët is the Head of the Department of Neonatology at Centre Hospitalier Universitaire (CHU) de Nancy, France. He is a Professor of Pediatrics and Director of the Division of Neonatology, specializing in neonatal nutrition, developmental respiratory and hemodynamics, pharmacology, and neurodevelopmental outcomes in preterm infants.

Professor Hascoët is a co-founder and coordinator of the French Board of Neonatology and a Corresponding Member of the French Académie Nationale de Médecine. He is also an Honorary Member of the American Pediatric Society, reflecting his contributions to neonatal medicine at an international level. His research focuses on breastfeeding, microbiota, human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs), and neonatal nutrition, aiming to improve health outcomes for premature infants.

With over 170 peer-reviewed publications, Professor Hascoët has made significant contributions to neonatal research. His studies explore feeding strategies for preterm infants, the impact of standardized nutrition protocols, and the role of HMOs in neonatal development. He has also investigated bronchiolitis risk factors, thyroid thresholds in preterm infants, and pharmacokinetics in neonatal care, shaping clinical guidelines and best practices.

Beyond his research, Professor Hascoët serves as an Associate Editor in Neonatology at Frontiers in Pediatrics, contributing to the advancement of neonatal science. He has been involved in international collaborations, working with experts to refine neonatal care strategies and improve survival rates for premature infants.
