Emmanuelle Godeau

Dr. Emmanuelle Godeau, MD, PhD, is a Senior Researcher at the French National School of Public Health (EHESP) in Rennes, France, specializing in adolescent health, risk behaviors, and public health education. She is responsible for national training programs for school doctors, ensuring that educational institutions serve as effective health promotion settings.

Dr. Godeau holds a PhD in social anthropology, integrating behavioral science with public health strategies to refine intervention programs for adolescents. Her research focuses on risk behaviors in youth, particularly substance use, mental health challenges, and chronic conditions, shaping preventive strategies and policy recommendations for adolescent well-being.

Since 2000, she has served as Principal Investigator for HBSC France, leading studies on health behaviors in school-aged children under the auspices of WHO Europe. She has held various leadership positions within the HBSC international network, contributing to cross-national research on adolescent health trends. In 2018, she helped merge HBSC and ESPAD into the EnCLASS project, a comprehensive initiative monitoring health behaviors and their determinants throughout secondary school.

Beyond her research, Dr. Godeau is actively involved in policy development and academic mentorship, collaborating with European health organizations to improve youth health policies. She has contributed to peer-reviewed publications on adolescent risk behaviors, school-based health interventions, and public health education, shaping best practices in youth health research.
