Dr. Dorothy Currie is a Senior Statistician in the School of Medicine at University of St Andrews, UK, specializing in adolescent health, public health policy, and statistical epidemiology. She is a member of the WHO Collaborating Centre for International Child and Adolescent Health Policy, where she contributes to global research on youth health trends and policy interventions.

Dr. Currie’s research focuses on cross-national measurement and comparison of adolescent health, analyzing mental health, smoking behavior, and the role of schools in supporting youth well-being. She has played a key role in evaluating the impact of policy interventions on adolescent health outcomes, ensuring that public health strategies are data-driven and evidence-based.

She is currently the Deputy International Coordinator of the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) study, a WHO collaborative cross-national research initiative covering 48 countries across Europe and Canada. Dr. Currie has contributed to peer-reviewed publications on adolescent health inequalities, substance use trends, and school-based health interventions, shaping best practices in youth health research.
