Dr. Lorraine Chok is a Research Manager at Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois (CHUV) in Switzerland, specializing in sexual health, adolescent behavior, and gender inequalities. She holds a Master’s degree in Philosophy and a Master’s degree in Global Health from the University of Geneva, where she developed a strong foundation in public health research and ethical frameworks.
Her work focuses on the sexual health of adolescents and young adults, exploring key areas such as sexual behaviors, the impacts of violence, and the broader socio-cultural dynamics of gender inequality. She has contributed to research examining bystander responses to non-consensual forwarding of intimate images among adolescents, highlighting the psychological and social consequences of digital harassment. Her studies also explore the evolution of screen use among youth, assessing trends in digital engagement and their effects on mental health.
Dr. Chok has been actively involved in qualitative research on adolescent mental health, investigating coping strategies, social support systems, and intervention models to improve well-being among young populations. Her work provides valuable insights into the intersection of mental health and social determinants, shaping policies aimed at addressing systemic inequities faced by vulnerable groups.
