Elena Chiappini, MD, PhD, is Associate Professor of General and Specialized Pediatrics at the University of Florence, where she coordinates the Pediatrics Course for the School of Medicine and Surgery and directs the Second-Level Master�s Program in Clinical Epidemiology and Guidelines. She also serves as Deputy Head of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Unit at the Anna Meyer Children�s Hospital in Florence, one of the leading pediatric hospitals in Italy, where she is responsible for the International Adoption Service. In these roles, she combines teaching, clinical practice, and research, shaping both future physicians and the standards of pediatric care.Professor Chiappini completed her medical degree, specialization in pediatrics, and doctorate in clinical pediatrics at the University of Florence, all with distinction. She further enriched her training through international research experiences at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, Cornell University Medical College in New York, and the Kinderpoliklinik in T�bingen, Germany. These experiences have contributed to her broad expertise in pediatric infectious diseases, epidemiology, and international child health.Her research focuses on pediatric infectious diseases, international adoption medicine, and evidence-based clinical practice. She has authored more than 329 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals and contributed to over 20 national and international guidelines, covering areas such as pharyngitis, fever management, tuberculosis, and adoption health. Her work is widely recognized, with a Scopus H-index of 41 and more than 11,000 citations on Google Scholar, reflecting her strong international reputation and influence on clinical practice.Alongside her academic and clinical commitments, Professor Chiappini is actively engaged in professional societies in pediatrics, infectious diseases, and epidemiology. She is also an invited speaker at international conferences and serves as a reviewer and editorial board member for leading journals. Through her combined roles as clinician, educator, researcher, and policy contributor, she has made a lasting impact on pediatric medicine both in Italy and internationally.
