Giacomo Biasucci

Giacomo Biasucci, MD, is Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Department of Medicine and Surgery (DiMEC), University of Parma. He serves as Director of the Pediatrics and Neonatology Unit at Guglielmo da Saliceto Hospital in Piacenza, which is an affiliated branch of the University of Parma. Under his leadership, the unit functions as the Regional Clinical Center HUB for Hereditary Metabolic Diseases, the National Pediatric Lipigen Center, and the Regional Reference Center for the acute organic rehabilitation of Nutrition and Eating Disorders in developmental age. It is also an accredited training center of the School of Specialization in Pediatrics at the University of Parma. In addition, he is Director of the Maternal and Child Department at the Guglielmo da Saliceto Hospital in Piacenza.

Since 2019, Prof. Biasucci has also been Consultant at the Regional Clinical Center for Neonatal Screening for Hereditary Metabolic Diseases of the Emilia Romagna Region, based at the Pediatric Unit directed by Prof. Andrea Pession at AOU, IRCCS Policlinico S. Orsola-Malpighi in Bologna.

Prof. Biasucci graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan, where he also completed multiple specialization diplomas in Pediatrics, with subspecializations in Social Pediatrics and Child Care, as well as Neonatology and Neonatal Pathology.

His clinical and academic work focuses on pediatric nutrition, hereditary metabolic diseases, and nutrition and eating disorders in childhood and adolescence. He has developed expertise in integrating clinical care, teaching, and research within these fields, with a particular emphasis on early diagnosis and multidisciplinary management.

Prof. Biasucci is actively engaged in advancing pediatric education and specialized training, contributing to regional and national networks that improve standards of care for children with complex metabolic and nutritional conditions.
