Dr Beattie is a Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist in Southampton and the lead for the regional service. His main clinical and research interests include the Nutritional Management of Chronic Disease, particularly Inflammatory Bowel Disease. He has published widely in Paediatric Gastroenterology and is the author of multiple revision texts and the Oxford Handbook of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. He was President of the British Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition from 2010-3. He is the editor and chief of the Archives of Disease in Childhood, BMJ Publishing Group.
