Lise Aunsholt

Lise is a senior consultant neonatologist, employed in the department since 2016. She has held an associate professorship at Comparative Paediatrics and Nutrition since 2019, and since 2022 also at the Institute for Clinical Medicine, University of Copenhagen. She defended her PhD thesis, titled "Efficacy of bovine colostrum in short bowel syndrome," in 2013.

Her main research interests are gastrointestinal development and neonatal nutrition, with a strong focus on translational approaches that link experimental and clinical research. Over time, her research activities have expanded to include respiratory disorders, neonatal infections, and educational development.She has supervised three PhD students, eleven master’s students, and five bachelor’s students, and she has served as principal investigator in several national and international studies. Her collaborations span a wide range of academic disciplines and global partners, and through these efforts, she has successfully attracted more than 30 million DKK in external funding.

Her research leadership is characterized by a commitment to strengthening translational research and by an inclusive and transparent approach that supports students and colleagues in their academic and professional development.The aim of her research leadership is to improve the understanding of translational research, to be inclusive and transparent and to help students and colleagues “grow” and achieve their goals.
