New Publication: 2026 Report on RSV Prevention - Protecting Every Infant

We are pleased to share the official policy report from the 17th Excellence in Pediatrics Conference and the 10th LifeCourse Prevention Summit, held in Paris in December 2025.

The report brings together the latest scientific evidence, clinical experience, and policy perspectives from leading experts across pediatrics, neonatology, epidemiology, and public health, all focused on a central question: how can the burden of RSV in infants be effectively reduced now that prevention is possible?

The answer that emerges is clear: RSV is not a mild or unavoidable infection of early childhood, but a significant and preventable cause of severe disease, hospitalization, and long-term health consequences, including in otherwise healthy, full-term infants.

The analysis examines the scale and nature of RSV burden, the evidence supporting new prevention tools, and the critical importance of moving from risk-based to universal protection strategies. It highlights how long-acting monoclonal antibodies and maternal vaccination are transforming the prevention landscape, while also identifying the operational, coverage, and equity challenges that will determine their real-world impact.

The report concludes with a set of policy recommendations focused on universal infant protection, strengthening healthcare professional awareness, improving public understanding of RSV, and ensuring equitable access to prevention across countries and health systems.
