Dr. Lise Aksglaede is a Consultant (MD, PhD) in Andrology at the Department of Growth and Reproduction, Rigshospitalet, Denmark. Her clinical and research interests focus on pediatric endocrinology and andrology, with a particular emphasis on sex chromosome disorders, testicular function, and histology.
Dr. Aksglaede has contributed extensively to research on Klinefelter syndrome (47,XXY), puberty, and testosterone therapy, helping refine diagnostic and treatment approaches for individuals with sex chromosome aneuploidies. Her work explores the endocrine and genetic mechanisms underlying testicular dysfunction, aiming to improve clinical outcomes for patients with reproductive disorders.
She has been actively involved in large-scale epidemiological studies assessing pubertal development, androgen bioactivity, and reproductive health in boys and young men. Her research has provided valuable insights into testicular dysgenesis syndrome (TDS), pubertal onset, and hormonal regulation, shaping clinical guidelines for pediatric endocrinology and andrology.
Dr. Aksglaede is affiliated with the European Academy of Andrology and the Danish Study Group for Pediatric Endocrinology, contributing to international collaborations in reproductive medicine.
